What Features and Hardware Are Leaked for the Fitbit Edge?

Leaked specifications indicate that the Google Fitbit Edge features an elongated oval display, an integrated altimeter for elevation tracking, built-in GPS, and automatic activity recognition. It delivers utility via Google Maps, Find My Phone, media controls, and notifications, paired with an underside sensor array resembling the screenless Fitbit Air.

Hardware renders obtained by Android Headlines demonstrate that Google designed the fitness band with elongated buttons or metal strips on both flanks, though their precise interaction mechanics remain unconfirmed. For everyday convenience, the band uses a rear pinch-style release mechanism to swap straps. While the wearable delivers essential Google ecosystem integration, Android Headlines noted that notifications are intentionally scoped down compared to premium wearable counterparts:

“The Fitbit Edge integrates an underside sensor array modeled after the Fitbit Air alongside built-in GPS and a 7-day battery runtime.”

What Colors and Finishes Will Be Available?

The Fitbit Edge renders show three distinct colorways: black, green, and orange. These finishes reportedly match the Obsidian, Olive, and Canyon color options established on the Pixel 11 Pro smartphone, establishing aesthetic consistency across Google’s hardware lineup, though additional launch colors remain possible upon formal market rollout.

The visual design departs from traditional circular smartwatches, using an elongated rectangular frame with rounded corners. The chassis integrates side-mounted metallic contact strips, and the rear casing houses the optical sensor array alongside quick-release toggles.

“Google’s leaked Fitbit Edge finishes match the Pixel 11 Pro palette in Obsidian black, Olive green, and Canyon orange.”

How It Compares

The Google Fitbit Edge occupies a defined middle ground within Google’s 2026 wearable portfolio. It bridges the divide between the high-end, circular Pixel Watch 5 and the minimalist, screenless Fitbit Air, directly modernizing the hardware segment last updated with the 3-year-old Fitbit Charge 6.

Model Form Factor Display Type Core Target Use Case

Pixel Watch 5 Smartwatch Round-faced full display Full smartwatch functionality and interactive notification management

Fitbit Edge Smartband Elongated oval display 7-day fitness tracking with limited smart features (Google Maps, media control)

Fitbit Air Fitness band Screenless tracker Pure biometric sensor tracking without visual on-wrist interaction

Fitbit Charge 6 Legacy smartband Rectangular display Previous-generation fitness tracker launched three years prior

“The Fitbit Edge delivers a middle-tier wearable solution bridging Google’s screenless Fitbit Air and flagship Pixel Watch 5.”

When Will the Fitbit Edge Launch and How Much Will It Cost?

According to leak reports from Android Headlines, the Fitbit Edge should debut as early as October 2026, with an estimated price range between US$149 and US$199. The projected retail price reflects historical Charge series pricing rather than confirmed retail leaks, strategically timed ahead of the holiday shopping window.

Delaying the release beyond October could jeopardize Google’s holiday sales traction. Converted to local regional currencies, the US$149 to US$199 estimate aligns with approximately RM609 to RM813.

“Industry leaks suggest the Fitbit Edge could retail between US$149 and US$199 ahead of the peak holiday shopping season.”
